During the demon fight, it might be useful to get a second beam out to kill the adds, but there are better options for it. Raddon's Cascading Eyes Now, I know that this legendary sounds good for breaking out of the Razor Ice, but funnily enough, it's borderline useless! You're never going to benefit from the buff during the Xylem phase, since the soul fragments will set the cooldown to 0 or nearly 0 when you break out of it with eye beam+blade dance. I recommend using the Talent Set Editor addon to swap between talents from one phase to another, and having your equipment sets put on an action bar in advance so you odn't spend too much time in a panicked hurry and fuck up gear/talent swaps.

The Xylem fight requires you to focus on not dying, while the Demon requires huge DPS and some burst AoE. If you have enough DPS to deal with the adds you should be okay (but you might not at 899 with only prydaz), make sure to save FoTI, chaos nova, a charge of throw glaive for the adds.A lot of guides for Mage Tower go over what people used on THEIR kill pull, and they don't talk about alternatives and budget legendary options. Pop meta/nem/CB/drums/old war at the start and start burning the boss as fast as you can before his first cast. You'll want to switch into an offensive talent build for this part. Prydaz is extremely good for Phase 1 but Phase 2 is a huge DPS check (especially bursting the adds). Phase 2 is where you might really start to struggle with your ilvl/legos. If you get hit by one it's a wipe so the safer/slower strat is just to wait out this part, you can throw glaive for a little extra damage. When he spawns the shadow orbs if you're confident in dodging you can continue to DPS him, but if you find you're dying to this just double jump and dash away (there's a pretty narrow range for the orbs) and wait for them to pass. Don't be afraid to pop defensives here, but keep in mind there's no frost rings to reset eyebeam and chaos nova so try to get as low as you can before leeching back up to live through this phase.
In the arcane phase you have to save an interrupt for his draw power, so don't use it to kick his cast. This is the key to the frost phase using chaos nova here will give you a ton of soulshards, resetting the cooldown of chaos nova for the next frost ring, and also resetting eyebeam to let you heal back to full. Make sure you're specced into demonic+soul rending, as this will allow you keep yourself at 100% HP with your leech.Įvery time he drops the ring of frost make sure you have chaos nova up. Other than the darkness part Phase 1 is all about survival, and it just repeats itself so just practice it until you get the mechanics down. You can also cheese this part with your dash, but you generally will have to wait inside at least the first bubble. It'll probably take more than that just to get the hang of all the mechanics.įor phase 1 the only DPS check is being able to "one-shot" the adds in the darkness phase so you can get healed up in the bubbles and get your bearings.
